it is common for the artists, after a show, to take the time to meet the audience and do questions/answers. This talks are possible with both children and adults, and it is always a pleausure for the artists !

Workshop and masterclass

Inspired by the artist’ preparation to Arcosm’s shows, the workshops aim at increasing trainees’ awareness to arts disciplines gathered into the company. Workshops insist on the strong relation between arts disciplines : percussions, dancing, mime, etc. Workshops, thus, underline the multidisciplinary of arts, offering varions kind of exercices based on body rythms, music’s choreography and breath taming. Workshops are adapted to school kids as well as dancing and music students trained in conservatories.

Sorties d’école / “school lets out”

The company, faithful to its idea of “re-enchantment of the world and everyday life”, proposes to work intensely (for several consecutive days, with several artists) on the creation of an extra-ordinary wandering, in situ. At the heart of the work is the desire to transform an everyday act, a necessary passage in life, and to re-enchant it, to make it poetic, to take a fresh look at it, and to force people around to see it in a different way.

These wanderings should be adapted according to the place hosting the project: “une Sortie d’école” (a school outing) in the case of a school, or a show in the case of a theatre. One could easily consider crossing this musical & choreographic approach with an audiovisual approach and think about filming and creating video capsules of these works, and also induce another relationship with creation.

Thus, for example, during the Sorties d’école, for several days, all the students of a school meet several artists of the company around practical workshops and times of exchange on the project, on the artist’s job, on the creation in progress and on the show they will have seen. Here, the choice is made to transform this moment of leaving school. This moment when each child leaves the school to be reunited with his parents, this moment when he moves from the collective of the class to the intimacy of the family unit, this transition, this forward march, this movement towards another reality.
